(Dec 09) After seeing Rod Lucas at The Radio School for a Core 2 course, former Radio School student Karen Davey is now on The Breakfast Show at Bolton FM 96.5 FM. Yet another success story for the Radio School. Former student Brett Whittaker has been selected to present the Breakfast Show on the new Wayland FM (Norfolk) 107.3. Starts August 09. Personally trained by radio guru Rod Lucas. We're also delighted that recent Radio School student Pete Ashton has joined radio station Calon FM 105FM (Wrexham North Wales). Pete's going to present a new Lunchtime show (June 2009). Trained by Rod Lucas. Another 2009 success is Richard White who is now a freelance presenter for The Local Radio Company (North Yorkshire). All trained by radio presenter coach Rod Lucas at The Radio School (April 2009).

I attended a radio course with Rod Lucas. After extensive research I felt confident and assured I was receiving the very best training this industry has to offer. I had no previous experience in presenting or producing radio prior to attending the course in January 2009. Being a 37yr old female I thought this was going to be out of my reach to grasp. However with the expert guidance, attention to detail and an exceptional eye for talent, Rod gently but firmly put me through my paces. From day 1, I was working the desk on my own and over the 3 days we gradually added other elements. In 3 days I was able to “ hold it all together” live interviews, back time the news, adverts, competitions, handle awkward telephone callers and there you had it. Following her Core 2 course Karen's now the Breakfast Show at Bolton 96.5 FM.
Just 7 days after returning home, I was offered a weekly sports show with my local community station and an offer of another project starting in Bolton very shortly.
